Why I Created This Blueprint

If you've spent any time researching BS/MD programs online, you've probably realized something: there's no clear roadmap. There's plenty of information, but very little practical guidance on what to do, when to do it, and how to become a truly competitive applicant.

Over the past eight years, I've had the privilege of mentoring more than 1,000 aspiring healthcare students through Medical Explorers. Whether at our summer camps, Insider community, live workshops, or mentorship programs, I kept hearing the same questions over and over again. Where do I start? What should I focus on? How do I actually stand out?

As the first physician in my family and a graduate of UMKC's six-year BA/MD program, I know how overwhelming this process can feel when you don't have insider knowledge or someone to guide you. That's one of the biggest reasons I created Medical Explorers and ultimately this Blueprint.

My goal was simple: create the resource I wish someone had handed me in high school. A practical roadmap that combines my experience as a physician, former admissions interviewer, mentor, and educator into one place. More than anything, I hope this Blueprint gives you clarity, confidence, and a roadmap you can come back to throughout your journey.
